Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how House Me Up ("we", "us") collects and processes your personal data when you visit housemeup.com or buy from us, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Greek Law 4624/2019.
1. Who is responsible (Data Controller)
- We are House Me Up.
- Contact for privacy questions: [email protected]
2. What we collect and why
- Order data (name, email, shipping address, order details) — to fulfil your purchase. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Payment data — card details are entered directly with our payment provider (Stripe); we never see or store your full card number. Legal basis: contract.
- Contact data — if you email us, we process your message and email address to reply. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
- Consent & preferences — your cookie choice is stored locally in your browser. Legal basis: consent.
- Technical data — standard server/security logs (e.g., IP address) kept by our host for security and abuse prevention. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
3. Cookies and embedded content
- Essential: a small local storage entry that remembers your cookie choice and your shopping cart. These do not require consent.
- YouTube (consent-based): videos and thumbnails load from YouTube (via youtube-nocookie.com) only after you click "Accept". If you decline, no YouTube content or cookies are loaded.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer.
4. Who we share data with (processors)
We use trusted providers who process data on our behalf under GDPR-compliant data processing agreements:
- Stripe — payment processing and checkout.
- Cloudflare — website hosting, CDN, and security.
- Google / YouTube — embedded videos and thumbnails (only after consent).
- Shipping & fulfilment partners — to produce and deliver your order.
- Google (Gmail) — our contact email.
5. International transfers
Some of these providers are based outside the EU/EEA (e.g., the USA). Where data is transferred, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
6. How long we keep it
- Order and transaction records: kept for as long as required by applicable law, then deleted.
- Support emails: kept until the matter is resolved and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Cookie/cart preferences: stored in your browser until you clear them.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your data, and to data portability. To exercise any right, email [email protected]; we will respond within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA) at www.dpa.gr.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS with security headers. We never store card data. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
Terms & Conditions
1. Who we are
This website is operated by House Me Up. You can reach us any time at [email protected].
2. Products and pricing
- All prices are in euros (€) and include VAT where applicable.
- Shipping costs are shown before you pay: Greece €3, International €10, and free on orders over €80.
- We make every effort to display products and colours accurately, but slight variation may occur.
3. Orders and contract
Your order is an offer to buy. The contract is formed when we confirm your order by email. We may decline or cancel an order (e.g., if an item is unavailable or a pricing error occurred); in that case you receive a full refund.
4. Payment
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details. Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) may be required by your bank.
5. Delivery
We ship with several trusted courier and postal partners, chosen based on availability, so your order reaches you as reliably as possible. Estimated delivery is 2–7 business days; orders within Greece are usually on the faster end, while longer times (beyond a couple of days) typically apply only to international shipping. Risk passes to you on delivery.
6. Right of withdrawal & returns
As a consumer in the EU you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance purchases. See our Returns & Withdrawal Policy for full details.
7. Legal guarantee
Goods must conform to the contract. You have statutory rights under EU and Greek consumer law (Law 2251/1994) if an item is faulty or not as described.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our liability is limited to the value of your order.
9. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by Greek law. Consumers may also use out-of-court dispute resolution; competent Greek courts have jurisdiction where mandatory consumer rules apply.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms: [email protected].
Returns & Withdrawal Policy
1. Your 14-day right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU, you may withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. The period expires 14 days after the day you (or a third party you name) receive the goods.
2. How to withdraw
To exercise the right, simply tell us of your decision by a clear statement — email [email protected]. To meet the deadline, it is enough to send your message before the 14 days expire.
3. Returning the goods
- Send the goods back without undue delay and within 14 days of telling us you withdraw.
- Return address: Axillea Samothraki 1, Thessaloniki 54248, Greece (the address we ship from).
- You bear the direct cost of returning the goods, unless we agree otherwise.
- Items should be unused and in original condition where possible; you are only liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary.
4. Refunds
We refund all payments received, including standard delivery, without undue delay and within 14 days of being informed of your withdrawal. We may withhold the refund until we receive the goods back or you provide proof of return. Refunds are made to your original payment method at no extra cost.
6. Faulty or incorrect items
If an item is faulty, damaged, or not as described, contact us — you are entitled to a remedy under EU and Greek consumer law (Law 2251/1994) at no cost to you.
